The District provides a monthly bulky item service for the disposal of some appliances and furniture, and will pick up a maximum of two (2) such items from each household every thirty days.  For more details or to schedule, please call (714) 893-3553 or email us at info@midwaycitysanitaryca.gov at least one week in advance of a request for service.
 
Normal items that the District will pick up are: furniture, appliances, patio furniture, large plastic toys, lawn care equipment, television sets, computer monitors and water heaters.

WE NO LONGER PICK UP MATTRESSES AND BOXSPRINGS - You can bring your mattresses and boxsprings to the District for recycling FREE of charge Monday - Friday between 8 am and 4 pm. 

The District does NOT pickup:  glass, mirrors, baseketball hoops, vanity, cabinets, counter over 6 ft, electric wheel chair, gate/fence, gazebo,  industrial massage chair, jacuzzi, medical bed, propane tank, saunas, sink, surfboard, swing set, tub, wood pallet, and work bench over 6 ft.

PLEASE NOTE THAT MCSD WILL NOT PICK UP ITEMS THAT WERE NOT PREVIOUSLY SCHEDULED AND ALL ITEMS ARE UP TO THE DRIVER'S DISCRETION TO REMOVE.  PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOUR ITEMS ON THE CURB UNTIL SCHEDULED FOR PICKUP.

The District DOES NOT collect abandoned items of personal property in the public right-of way or undertake nuisance abatement activities on private property. Patrolling public or private property and keeping it clean to prevent nuisance conditions is a traditional city/county function and responsibility, and is typically performed by city/county public works and police departments who are vested with constitutional police powers, public works powers, and taxing powers to perform and fund this function. Please report abandoned items.

*If you live in a community with metal dumpsters for your trash, please contact CR&R (800)826-9677 to schedule a pickup of your large items.

Household Hazardous Waste can still be disposed of free of charge at the Hazardous Waste Center located at 17121 Nichols Street in Huntington Beach. For more information on this center, call the Household Hazardous Waste Hotline at (714) 834-6752, or visit this site near Beach Boulevard and Warner Avenue from 9 am-3 pm, Tuesday through Saturday.
