Chi Charlie Nguyen was elected to the Board of Directors of the Midway City Sanitary District in November 2016. He also serves on the City of Westminster’s Citizens’ Financial Oversight Committee.

Director Nguyen brings decades of experience as both an engineer and a business owner. He has successfully owned and operated his own business in the City of Westminster, overseeing all aspects of operations, strategic planning, and day-to-day management. In his engineering career, he worked for Boeing Company, Rockwell International, and B/E Aerospace, holding roles that included Design Engineer, Risk Management Engineer, Project Manager, and Manager. His final position at Rockwell was Senior Manager in the Engineering Department, where he led supervisors, project managers, and engineers while managing priorities and resources to deliver high-quality results.

A dedicated public servant, Director Nguyen has been actively involved in community service for more than 35 years. He served as Executive Director of a youth and young adult ministry for 15 years and organized retreats, coordinated volunteer visits to juvenile halls, served meals at homeless shelters throughout Orange County and Los Angeles, and visited seniors in nursing homes. He has also taught U.S. citizenship classes in local churches, supporting immigrant communities.

Director Nguyen is a lifelong Orange County resident. He graduated from Bolsa Grande High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Fullerton, followed by a Master’s degree from California State University, Long Beach.

With well-rounded management experience, proven leadership skills, and a strong commitment to public service, Director Nguyen is well prepared to continue serving the residents of Midway City and Westminster.
