Organics Recycling Exemptions

district logo

All single-family residences that are currently being serviced by Midway City Sanitary District (MCSD) will participate but certain multi-family properties will be exempt. Multi-family exemptions are based on the following:

• No lawns and limited parking
• Limited parking spaces and little to no room on the street to place the extra cart
• Homes with no yards that produce little to no trash (usually a small family or a single-family household)
• Landscaper hauls away all grass and shrub clippings

All single-family residences that wish to be exempt from the new organics recycling program will need to write a letter stating the reasons why an exemption is needed. All exemption requests will be reviewed and inspected on a case by case basis. MCSD staff may also follow-up with a phone call. To qualify for the single-family exemption, the owner must be the one making the request and meet one of the following reasons:

• No lawns and limited parking
• Homes with no yards that produce little to no trash (usually a small family or a single-family household)
