Mark Nguyen was elected to the Board of Directors of the Midway City Sanitary District in November 2022, following his appointment in 2021. He is a software engineer with expertise in database administration. Prior to serving on the Board, Mark was a Planning Commissioner for the City of Westminster.

Mark’s life story reflects resilience and perseverance. He was among the first refugees to flee Vietnam by boat after the Fall of Saigon and spent his early years on the Malaysian island of Pulau Bidong and in Nebraska before relocating to Southern California during his middle and high school years. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from UCLA and has lived in Westminster for the past 20 years with his wife and children.
